KUALA LUMPUR, 21 March 2015: Ten more families benefit from Great Vision Shopping Buddy Program right before the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation that begins on 1st April. A group of volunteers from Great Vision Charity Association accompanied the families to shop for their groceries at Tesco, The Scott Garden via the program. Each family is presented with RM100 cash vouchers to help ease their burden.
The Shopping Buddy Program is a program conducted by the association on the third Sunday of each month, where 10 selected underprivileged families were invited for a groceries shopping session and were chauffeured there by volunteers from the association. The program is an ongoing activity and is into its fifth month of the program.
After they were done with shopping, the families were invited to dine together with the volunteers at Seasons Restaurant before being chauffeured back to their homes. The team leader for the outing, Mr Danny Tan Chin Aik, extended his appreciation to Seasons Restaurant for their support in the charity movement by offering a 15% discount on the total bill.
Membeli-Belah Pra-GST Bersama Keluarga Miskin
KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Mac 2015: Sepuluh lagi keluarga miskin mendapat manfaat daripada Program Rakan Shopping Persatuan Harapan Mulia sebelum pelaksanaan Cukai Barangan dan Perkhidmatan (GST) yang akan bermula pada 1 April. Sekumpulan sukarelawan dari Persatuan Harapan Mulia menemani keluarga tersebut untuk membeli barangan runcit mereka di Tesco, The Garden Scott melalui program ini. Setiap keluarga diberikan baucar tunai RM100 untuk meringankan beban mereka.
Program Rakan Shopping adalah program yang dijalankan oleh pihak persatuan pada hari Ahad ketiga setiap bulan, di mana 10 keluarga kurang bernasib baik terpilih akan dijemput ke sesi membeli-belah barangan keperluan rumah oleh sukarelawan dari persatuan itu. Ia merupakan aktiviti berterusan dan telah memasuki bulan kelima program tersebut.
Selepas para keluarga siap membeli-belah, mereka telah dijemput untuk makan bersama-sama dengan para sukarelawan di Restoran Seasons sebelum dihantar kembali ke rumah masing-masing. Pemimpin pasukan untuk aktiviti hari tersebut, Encik Danny Tan Chin Aik, melafazkan tanda penghargaannya kepada Restoran Seasons ke atas sokongan mereka dalam gerakan amal ini kerana menawarkan diskaun 15% ke atas jumlah bil.
