Kuala Lumpur, 14 May 2016: Ten underprivileged families from PPR Pasir Permata, Old Klang Road have been assessed and selected to be the beneficiaries of the monthly Shopping Buddy program initiated by the Great Vision Charity Association (GVCA). The association contributed RM100 cash voucher to each of the families with the aim to reduce their household burden. The charity shopping trip was held at Tesco Scott Garden, accompanied by volunteers from the association.
During the shopping session at Tesco, the volunteers helped and accompanied the families in choosing their necessity goods and summing the total of the purchase. The association representative, Ms Chor Mun Yan commented,“These underprivileged families came from poor background with the household income of less than RM1,200.”
“Besides facing financial issue, some of the families even suffer from health issue which requires costly medical fees. Through this Shopping Buddy Program, we wish to ease the burden of these families,” said Chor.
After the shopping session, the underprivileged families and volunteers had a hearty lunch at the Tesco food court. One of the stall owner of the food court, Pak Yusram was coincidently a resident in PPR Pasir Permata as well. He was touched by the help extended to his neighbours in need and hence offered discounts on the food price in support of this charity event.
“It is very fulfilling to see the smiles on the participants’ face throughout the shopping session. I learnt that the biggest blessing is not about being wealthy but being healthy,” commented Selina Lee, a volunteer of the event.
NGO MENYUMBANG RM1,000 MEMBANTU PENDUDUK MISKIN PPR
Kuala Lumpur, 14 Mei 2016: Sepuluh keluarga miskin dari PPR Pasir Permata, Jalan Kelang Lama telah menerima sumbangan dari Program Rakan Shopping yang dikendalikan oleh Persatuan Harapan Mulia (PHM), sebuah NGO yang membantu golongan kurang berkemampuan. Wakil penduduk yang masak dengan latar belakang keluarga-keluarga di PPR Pasir Permata telah bekerjasama dengan PHM untuk memilih 10 keluarga miskin tersebut. Baucar membeli-belah bernilai RM100 kemudiannya disumbangkan kepada setiap keluarga terpilih untuk membeli barangan keperluan.
Semasa sesi membeli-belah di Tesco Scott Garden, para sukarelawan membantu dan menemani keluarga-keluarga miskin tersebut dalam memilih barangan keperluan masing-masing. Wakil persatuan, Cik Chor Mun Yan mengulas, “Keluarga-keluarga ini berpendapatan rendah dan pendapatan isi rumah adalah dalam purata RM1,200.”
“Bukan sahaja golongan ini miskin, namun sesetengah juga mengalami masalah kesihatan dan memerlukan kos rawatan yang tinggi. Persatuan kami berharap dapat membantu meringankan bebanan mereka yang kurang berupaya melalui program ini,” katanya.
Selepas sesi membeli belah, keluarga-keluarga miskin ini dijemput menjamu makan tengah hari di gerai Pak Yusram di medan selera Tesco bersama para sukarelawan. Pak Yusram meluahkan perasaan berterima kasih kepada wakil persatuan atas bantuan yang diberikan kepada keluarga-keluarga miskin tersebut yang kebetulannya berjiranan dengan beliau. Dengan sukacitanya, Pak Yusram memberikan diskaun ke atas kos makan tengah hari sebagai tanda sokongan kepada program amal ini.
